"My dad always tells a story about us all going on holiday to the sea. We'd all bundle in the back of the car, which would always break down at least twice, and when we got there I'd just have to get into that sea. December, January, February - I'd just strip off and barrel in there. I had no concept of temperature, cold or anything. I've always been really impulsive like that.
